Why GlowHost’s private branded nameservers are better…
Other hosts use the same IP address over and over for all of their reseller’s nameservers. This means if someone were to lookup the IP address 111.222.333.444 (example) you would see every other web hosting reseller using that same IP address. It is a dead give away that you are reselling. At GlowHost, you get your own, not shared, dedicated nameserver IP addresses included in your plan at no extra charge.
Branded nameservers
Are right for those who want to start their own fully branded web hosting company. Typically these type of resellers sell their hosting directly on the Internet, and rarely, if ever, met their customers face to face. these are most likely right for resellers with 50+ domains or customer accounts.
When you end-user does a whois search, they will see:
ns1.your-hosting-brand.com
ns2.your-hosting-brand.com
Generic nameservers
Are great for resellers who have customers that they see from time to time in person, but want to maintain the appearance of their own dedicated server, or, do not want their end-users/customers to associate GlowHost.com as an upstream of their own brand name.
When you end-user does a whois search, they will see:
ns1,gendns.com
ns2.gendns.com (or similar)
GlowHost nameservers
The easiest to use and fully managed, these are great for smaller web design firms or individuals that have many sites and domains. These are best for resellers that do not care about GlowHost branding and want the easiest DNS management option available. Typically these are for those who want to take advantage of reseller pricing, but likely are not going to actually resell the space, or only resell small portions of it.
When you end-user does a whois search, they will see:
ns1.glowhost.net
ns2.glowhost.net (or similar)
